Cochrane Malaysia is pleased to announce Cochrane Malaysia Electives for 2026. 

The aim of this four-week elective placement is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the processes involved in Cochrane systematic review production and dissemination.

The objectives are that by the end of the four-week elective, students will be able to:

• Understand the value and role of systematic reviews in clinical decision-making.
• Describe the methods involved in producing a systematic review
• Read & interpret results of systematic reviews and apply the findings to clinical care.
• Communicate evidence from Cochrane Reviews to lay audiences and understand strategies for effective knowledge translation, including the use of social media.
• Contribute to Cochrane’s work and earn Cochrane Membership.

It is open to all undergraduate medical students. The elective will be offered through two distinct tracks: Review Production Track and Knowledge Translation Track. There is a maximum of two students per track. Additional fees apply for non-RUMC students.
