On September 26, 2024, Cochrane Malaysia proudly marked its 10th anniversary at a vibrant celebration held at the Avante Hotel in Bandar Utama, Selangor. The event was officiated by Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Health, YB Dato' Lukanisman Awang Sauni, and graced by H.E. Orla Tunney, the Irish Ambassador to Malaysia. Global and regional health leaders and distinguished guests, including Cochrane's global CEO, Catherine Spencer, Directors of Cochrane Centres in Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan, also attended the event.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Cochrane Malaysia organized an intervarsity competition aimed at engaging undergraduate healthcare students in promoting evidence-based decision-making. The competition invited students to create short videos demonstrating how Cochrane evidence can be applied in clinical settings.In total, 12 teams from 6 universities participated. All teams attended a workshop, which included a quiz. The final scores combined quiz results and video evaluations.

Each year, we recognize our top volunteer translators with Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards, celebrating their exceptional work in promoting health knowledge. This year, we introduced the All-Time Achievement Award, a special honor for individuals and institutions with a consistent and extraordinary contribution to the Cochrane Bahasa Malaysia translation initiative.

Cochrane Malaysia turns 10 in 2024, and we will be celebrating a decade of impact with a special event. The Hon. Minister of Health Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad will be the guest of honour. The keynote address will be given by Catherine Spencer, Cochrane Chief Executive Officer.
